Site policy

RouxWiki user information will never be sold. User information will not be sold to marketing companies or other entities who would like to add you to their mailing lists. We all get more than enough unsolicited bulk email and spam; RouxWiki will not encourage this practice.
RouxWiki user information will be made available to law enforcement should a court order demanding it be produced.

You may receive email from other RouxWiki members. Each user page contains a link to email the user. This link goes to a web form where another member may send you an email without your email address being made visible to them. If you use this email form to send an email to another member, your email address will appear in the From field of the email. The receiving member will therefor be able to see your email address. Should you not want to receive email from other RouxWiki members, you can disable it in your preferences page.
You may receive email from RouxWiki administrators. An administrator may send you an email even if you have disabled email from other users. This will only happen in very extraordinary cases since.
You may receive a mass email from RouxWiki administrators. If there is a real need to inform all members of a very important issue, the administrators may decide to send a bulk email to all members. This will only be done if something very severe is happening with the wiki, i.e. it is being terminated.

IP addresses are logged. The software in use on this wiki (MediaWiki) logs the IP address of all anonymous accesses to the wiki.
Your real name will be used for attribution. If you provide a "real name" in your user information it will be placed at the bottom of any page that you create or edit. You are not required to provide a real name, but if you don't you will not receive attribution for the content you contribute.
Your username or IP address is logged for any changes you make. This is mostly done to provide attribution for your work, but is also used so other can contact you should there be a dispute about the changes you made.

User pages are under the copyleft. Your user page is released under the same license as the rest of RouxWiki. The content may be reused by others. Don't include any personal information that you do not want other to redistribute or use in their own work.
Talk pages are under the copyleft. Any comments you make on talk pages is released under the same license as the rest of RouxWiki and may be copied and reused by others.

This wiki is about real people and there are a number of privacy concerns to keep in mind when contributing content to the wiki.
